Become a producer

Your kitchen table could reach the whole town

Membership is open to anyone over 16 with suitable home-produced items to sell. There are no minimum quantities, no weekly commitment, and no stall to run — bring what you’re proud of, and the co-operative sells it for you.

Tell us what you make

What could you bring?

If you make it well, there’s a table for it

Cook

Cakes, biscuits, bread, pies, pasties and preserves — plus honey and free-range eggs. Everything homemade in your own kitchen, with no preservatives or additives.

Craft

Cards, pottery, beeswax candles, wool work and other handmade pieces. Unique, made with local materials where possible, and finished with care.

Grow

Fruit and vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, perennials and seedlings — picked or potted fresh for Friday morning.

How selling works

  • Your goods are sold alongside everyone else’s, like with like — no stall to build or staff

  • You’re paid each month for what sells, less a small commission covering running costs and insurance

  • No minimum quantities and no commitment to produce every week

  • Custom orders often come your way once customers know your work

  • You join a co-operative — every member has a say in how the market is run

What we ask of you

  • You’re over 16 and your produce is genuinely homemade, homegrown or handmade

  • You live and produce within about 15 miles of Ledbury

  • Food producers hold (or gain) the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering — we’ll point you the right way

  • You lend a hand with the running of the market now and then, as all members do

  • You take the same care with quality that keeps customers coming back

From first chat to first sale

It starts with a conversation, not a form

  1. Come in on a Friday

Have a look at the tables, try the coffee, and ask for the Market Manager — a chat in the hall is how nearly every producer starts.

  2. Talk through what you make

We’ll tell you honestly how your produce fits, what sells well, and anything you’d need — like food-safety certification for cooks.

  3. Join the co-operative

Membership is simple and open to anyone over 16. You become a co-owner of the market, not a tenant.

  4. Bring your first batch

Start as small as you like. Your goods go on the table with everyone else’s, and you’re paid monthly for what sells.

A note from the market

Plenty of our producers started with one tin of flapjacks or a bucket of dahlias, quietly unsure whether they were “good enough”. If people ask you for the recipe, ask where you bought it, or simply ask for more — you are. Come and talk to us.

Or start right here

Prefer not to wait until Friday? Leave your details and the Market Manager will get back to you.

Which table would your produce belong on?

Or just come in on a Friday and have a chat — the kettle’s always on.

The kettle is on and the tables are full every Friday morning.
